Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s)
My name is Jonathan Vitale and your son/daughter is enrolled in my class this school year. I attended Archbishop Rummel High School where I graduated with academic honors. I graduated, with honors, from the University of New Orleans (UNO) with a Bachelors of Science in secondary science as a primary focus, and social studies as a secondary focus. Additionally, I received a minor in Earth and Environmental Science from UNO. In the summer of 2016 I completed my Master’s degree in education from the University of Holy Cross College.
The goal I have for your child and with all my students is for them to enjoy what I am teaching them. I intend to achieve this goal by showing my students what the subject has to offer all of us in our ever changing world. I want my students to walk away from my class with a higher knowledge of his or her immediate and distant environmental surroundings.
I expect all students to attend and participate in class. I feel it can be difficult for a person to learn without being actively involved in class. Also, I know it can be difficult to be enthusiastic about a subject if it is presented in a dull and boring manner. Therefore, I will do everything I can to present and teach in a fun, “relevant to life,” and learning manner.
This will be an exciting learning year for your child. I plan to show your child the world from our school. I look forward to teaching and learning from your child… and learning more about them from you. I welcome any comments or feedback from you regarding your child. I enjoy and love teaching, which is why I am looking forward to sharing the joys of science with all of my students.
I am honored to be part of the faculty at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School and being entrusted with the education of our future leaders.
Appreciatively,
Jonathan Vitale M.Ed
